I used to make biodiesel processors with a friend. We did really well in our 1st two years, then the price of gas stablized and the cost to build rose. It was fun while it lasted.

I was shocked when Pickens announced the sale of all those windmills. It goes to show you how much economics drive energy production and that the environment takes a back seat to profits. We should not wait until prices are sky high, or our average planet temperature is 200 degrees, to expand alternative energy.

I agree with you regarding your preference for solar, wind and geothermal sources of renewable energy over the plant-based biofuels. The economics of supply and demand can/will become compounded by the vagaries of the weather as climate changes and we could/would be held price hostage by supply and demand. The research into sea algae could deliver some interesting results though.

Okay, man, but where are we going to be when we run out of uranium and we’re stuck with the empty shells of all those multi-billion dollar “3rd and 4th” generation reactors and all the waste they produced?
