I chose Biofuels, mostly because it’s a wide open field of possibilities, possibilities for making use of what would otherwise be considered “waste.” However, it’s all of these, used in combination, connected to one another that most excites me. As written about recently in Ode Magazine http://www.odemagazine.com/doc/56/talkin-bout-my-generation/ and in Celsias http://www.celsias.com/article/will-africa-be-hub-green-global-super-energy-grid/ ,a distributed grid would act in the same was as file sharing systems do now: Lots of small nodes all over, rather than big centralized power plants that leave us more vulnerable when issues happen somewhere in that grid. When we as part of that distributed grid produce extra energy, that goes to feed the grid where it’s at the moment under producing. This is feasible both on a local and a continental scale.
It’s resilient, powerful, and beginning to happen now!

Because its so funny a world moving with oil used for fries!

I jumped on the bandwagon and chose solar, because of all the advances they are making in that field I think that eventually, solar technology will make energy abundantly available. Technologies like this: http://greenupgrader.com/3198/turning-the-asphalt-jungle-into-a-solar-farm/ look very promising!

I chose solar because it is the most abundant form of energy in the solar system and ultimate has generated all of the other forms. Go to the source!

Even though I believe solar technologies have the best opportunity to provide the most energy for commercial and personal use, I am most excited about biofuels because it is something I can produce myself. With many kits available to produce and store fuel from compost and vegetable oil, I can run my trucks and tractors at the farm all on biodiesel.
